Past President Jill Patton recognized outgoing Secretary, Jerri Wilfong, for her fourteen years of dedicated service in the Secretary’s role.
Also the club heard from speaker Dustin Crites, who started Real Deal Baseball seven months ago in Charlotte, NC.
“The mission of Real Deal Baseball is to train players from an age range of 9-18 years old. Our objective is to challenge them at the highest level of competition on a regular basis. Players will be taught concepts of the game of baseball and learn camaraderie through team experiences. Players work towards goals as individuals and as a team through practices, lessons, diet, training, educating and molding themselves into a strong student athlete. In turn, this approach will prepare selected young men to succeed on and off the playing field. Through our organization we provide services to help guide families down the educational path for players to be academically eligible and to be qualified for scholarships. With relationships and contacts in the college and professional level of baseball there are other options if applicable that can be pursued. In short, we are the “REAL” definition of travel baseball.”
