Founded in 1921, the Hickory Rotary Club is Catawba County’s first and most widely recognized service organization, We take great pride in our club’s rich history of giving back to the community that has given so much to every one of us. In adherence to Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self,” our club’s primary service avenue is education. Over the years, we have done a great deal to reward and recognize our teachers,  provide college scholarships for deserving high school graduates, as well as to participate in a tutoring program at Southwest Elementary. In addition, we engage in a number of other service projects that benefit our citizens in need, such as Salvation Army bell ringing, the providing of meals and gifts at Christmas, Red Cross blood drives just to name a few.

Rotary is an international organization, and we are one of over 34,000 community based clubs throughout the world that include over 1.2 million members. Our club has supported Rotary International in its efforts to fund service projects around the world, which are made possible by the Rotary Foundation. Rotary International has also been instrumental in the effort to eradicate polio and is the largest volunteer and private organization to contribute toward this cause. To date, Rotary International has contributed over $900 million toward the eradication of polio, and along with the Gates Foundation, we have nearly succeeded in wiping this dreaded disease from the face of the earth.

At Hickory Rotary Club, we view ourselves as citizens of our community and of the world. That keeps us busy, but we love the work we do. If you are interested in attending one of our meetings, we welcome you anytime as a guest. Or if you just have questions about us, we hope that you will drop us a line or give us a call.

Thank you for your interest in the Hickory Rotary Club.
