Hickory Rotary Club held five Education Alive live televised auctions between 1998 and 2004, raising funds to create low-interest loans for Catawba County residents wishing to pursue higher education. At this time, the club has no plans to continue the televised auctions.

Education Alive - Our Mission Statement:
To provide funding for charitable organizations and educational needs of the citizens of Catawba County and to make educational funding available to all of those who are in need. Education is a resource for those who want to make their dreams come true. Hickory Rotary Club will make a difference for those who want to achieve their dreams and goals through our special loan and scholarship program made possible by the generosity of the citizens of Catawba County.
